Kalia Karr Performance Ensembles

Although we are primarily a recreational dance studio, we do offer a competition element to those older students who would like to make this commitment.  Our Junior Competition Ensemble dancers range in age from 9 to 14, and our Senior Competition Ensemble dancers are ages 14 to 18.  Placement on either team is made via an invitational audition process.  Dancing ability, not age, is the final determinant of team placement.   Competition Dancers must be extremely proficient in tap, must work well as a group, and need to convey an “out of the box” attitude in their dancing. Our teams attend one dance workshop and three Dance Competitions per year.   In years past, Kalia  Karr competition teams have danced aboard a Carnival Cruise Ship and in Disney World.   Our 2004-2005 Competition Ensembles  received “Gold,” “High Gold,’ and “Platinum” awards for their Tap and Jazz presentations.
